The Night's Soul
Original mixed media piece at 40x27 in. I made it with charcoal, pastels, acrylic paint, and bleach. The piece took about 4-5 hours to complete. It is a symbol of comfort and protection. I make prints of these by scanning them with a large scanner at a local business, and then print them on large format inkjet. All prints are made to order and are available through my Etsy page.
Painted for Halloween of 2015, a beautiful depiction of the moon swinging through its phases like a pendulum from the earth as a black cat steps through the stars. Original is 11x15. It and prints are available in my Etsy shop.
Self Portrait in Purple
A self portrait done in water colors.
A playful and sweet platypus in bright colors. Painted for a commission. Original is 5x7.
Part of a 6 part series comparing the ferocity of humans to the unconditional love of animals. One of the deadly humans staring down prey.
An original piece done with watercolor, nupastel, and charcoal at 22x30, though prints are printed on large format matte paper with inkjet. This piece was done in a series of animal portraits, portraying fierce animals in a contemplative light. Instead of a fierce leopard, we see a daydreaming cat that could remind us of our own house cats as they stare out a window. All prints are made to order and available through my Etsy website.
These lions were part of a 3 part series and represent family bonds and kindness. They nuzzle each other gently in a show of brotherly love. This piece originally was painted at 27x40, using watercolor, chalk pastels, and charcoal. It took roughly 6-8 hours. Prints are available through my Etsy store.
I made this piece in preparation for a local dog show here in May. I'm doing the top 25 breeds for our local show and bulldogs ranked pretty high! This one was a lot of fun to do. This is done with charcoal, pastels, and watercolors on watercolor paper, though the prints will be available on large format matte paper, printed with inkjet. A great piece for any dog lovers!
A watercolor piece enhanced with charcoal, this piece is part of a series of fierce animals in contemplative moments. This piece is small but it speaks boldly in a room. All prints are made to order.
